(LIQUID TRANSPORTATION)
SYSTEMS
FOR HYDROCARBONS,
LIQUID PETROLEUM GAS,
ANHYDROUS AMMONIA AND ALCOHOLS
(REINFORCING PAD OF BRANCH CONNECTIONS)
With this
method, you may design
·
Reinforcement required for branch connections.
This method
describes requirements for the design of reinforcement for branch
connections of piping transporting liquids such as crude oil, condensate,
natural gasoline, natural gas liquids, liquefied petroleum gas, liquid
alcohol, liquid anhydrous ammonia, and liquid petroleum products between:
producer´s lease facilities, tank farms, natural gas processing
plants, refineries, stations, ammonia plants, terminals and other delivery
and receiving points.
You may
also obtain :
- Wall
Thicknesses required (Header
and Branch)
- Area
of Reinforcement required
- Area
of Reinforcement available
- Cross-sectional
area of various welds available for reinforcement
- Cross-sectional
area of material added as reinforcement
- Total
Area Available
- Size
of reinforcing pad (if required)
- Size
of fillet welds (Outside and reinforcing pad fillet-if required)
Furthermore
you will be able to:
· Check
your existing branch connections for different conditions .
·
Check your reinforcement of openings design modifying some one of the
parameters as follows:
· Design
Pressure (internal).
· Design Temperature.
· Thicknesses (Header and Branch).
· Diameters (Header and Branch).
· Material Specification : Header, Branch.
· Reinforcing Pad Material.
· Corrosion Allowance (Header and Branch).
NOTE:
Allowable Stress Values are according to any temperature among -20°F
to 250°F.
